DONNA BERTHA HEDIN December 10, 1937 - September 18, 2016 Mom's mission in life was to live to be learning. It is with many tears and broken hearts we say goodbye to Mom and Nana for now. Her nickname was always Nana Banana. Mom was predeceased by her husband Cameron, of 54 years. Mom's faith and courage in her battle with cancer taught us all valuable lessons. She reached out to each and every one she knew and was much loved by everyone. Mom had a kind heart and she loved animals, and had such a love for gardening. Your daughters, Debra and Renae thank you always for your listening ear and your understanding of the both of us. She loved her son-in-law Ernie and he did many fixing jobs for her. She treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and prayed daily for each one of them. Mom always talked about her brothers and sisters. She loved and praised them, as each one was so special to her and she really treasured her siblings. Thank you to each one of you for being so kind to Mom. She always enjoyed her visits with sister-in-law Elaine (Gordon) and the many great times she had with them. You are now in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ, where suffering is no more. Jesus has taken you home to paradise, as promised in the Holy Scriptures to all who believe in Him. We thank each one of Mom's friends that she loved so much, and did so much with her and for her. We thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care of our mother. With much love till we see you again and you will never be forgotten by your family. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I have known Donna for many years ..and each summer I would strike up a conversation with her while she was outside working on her yard..seemed it was something she was very passionate about. She was one of the nicest ladies I knew and respected. The last conversation I had with her ,she informed me she had cancer. Yet knowing her and her strength..I knew it was something she could overcome...sadly, I was wrong and I am truly heartbroken, when I found out today you were called away ...tears began to flow..I will so miss our conversations Donna..you were an amazing lady.. it was an honor to have known both you and Cam...you made my life better over the years...I know every time I look out my kitchen window.. I know I will always see you doing your yard work...Rest in Peace - Posted by: Lindsay Stockburn (Neighbor/Friend) on: Oct 01, 2016

  • Dearest Donna...your sing-song happy voice and laughter and positive spirit shall be oh so greatly missed. You were a fighter for all things good. Now, you rest at home in the Paradise of God, and are not really too far away. Our deepest prayers of comfort to Myles, Rozanne, Owen, Asher and all who knew and loved you. "How deep the Father’s love for us, How vast beyond all measure, That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure. How great the pain of searing loss - The Father turns His face away, As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory. Behold the man upon a cross, My sin upon His shoulders; Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished; His dying breath has brought me life - I know that it is finished. I will not boast in anything, No gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer; But this I know with all my heart - His wounds have paid my ransom." Stuart Townend Copyright © 1995 Thankyou Music (Adm. by CapitolCMGPublishing.com excl.
