STANLEY NORMAN JOHNSON 1933 - 2016 Stanley passed away peacefully at Heritage Lodge at the age of 83. He will be sadly missed by his wife Helene of 58 years, his son Maxwell (Betty), granddaughter Amanda, brothers-in-law Henri Lambert, Pierre Lambert (Jeanette), sister-in-law Yvette MacNeil (Don), many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his mother Josephine Johnson (Bailey) in 1963, his grandfather and grandmother Bailey, his father and mother-in-law Origene and Albina Lambert (Malo), brother-in-law Tom MacNeil, sisters-in-law Aline MacNeil and Yvette Lambert (Desrosiers). Stanley was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and moved to Cobble Hill on Vancouver Island when was seven with his mother and grandparents. He attended a private school on the Island. Stanley joined the armed forces at a very young age and had many postings throughout his career including peacekeeping in Egypt, Calgary, Oakville Ontario, Germany and Camp Borden Ontario. In Churchill he met and married Helene in 1958. His last posting was Ottawa where he retired from the Forces as Warrant Officer in 1973. They settled in Winnipeg, St. Vital area and spent good times at their cottage in Albert Beach. He worked at the Municipal Hospital before retiring for good. He loved his walks in St. Vital Park with Helene and Willow, a little rescued dog they adopted from the Humane Society. Cremation has taken place and as per Stan's wishes there will be no funeral. Inurnment will be held at the St. Vital Cemetery Columbarium Niche at a later date. Many thanks to the staff and nurses at Heritage Lodge.
