RAYMOND (RAY) LABOSSIERE Peacefully, with family at his side, Raymond passed into eternal life on September 30, 2016. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Beryl (married 65 years), daughters Susan (Jeff), Jayne (Mitch), sons Mark (Jody), and David. He will be lovingly missed by his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ray was predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Corona, and sisters Lorraine and Della. Ray was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB on January 17, 1924. He grew up and was educated in Russell, MB. In 1943 he enlisted in the army where he spent eight months as a POW near Munich, Germany. After the war, Ray settled in Atikokan, Ontario where he met and eventually married the love of his life, Beryl. He was employed by Steep Rock Iron Mines for 40 years in the Engineering Department. Ray loved to curl, golf and play badminton. He also enjoyed many family ski trips in Canada and the U.S. Ray was a member of the Atikokan Lions Club and was always a willing volunteer in all their projects. He served on vestry of the Good Shepherd Anglican Church. Ray and Beryl moved to Morden, MB in 1987 and enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Ray was an avid member of the Minnewasta Golf Club where he attained two holes in one! He enjoyed many leisure hours playing pool at the Morden Friendship Centre, and was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church. For health reasons Ray and Beryl moved to Dakota House in Winnipeg and attended Springs Church. Ray's faith and determination helped him fight Parkinsons. Ray was always a gentleman; kind, courteous and humble, affecting many lives. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Tower 5 at Deer Lodge for their wonderful care. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. Arrangements interested to: Rock Fontaine Funeral Director Honour-Respect-Dignity Winnipeg 2042232576 or toll-free 1-866-499-2601
