CATHERINE VICKERS (nee MACKENZIE) It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Cathie on October 6, 2016, in Winnipeg, MB, following a long battle with dementia. Cathie was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1933, the youngest child of the late Catherine and Malcolm Whyte. She immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling in Winnipeg, MB. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and their husbands, Sarah (Jack) Finch-Field, Anne (Brian) Gould, and her brother James Whyte. She will be missed deeply by her beloved family, husband Cyril Vickers, son Ross (Marian) MacKenzie and two grandchildren Elspeth and Sebastian in Australia, and her sister-in-law Patricia Whyte in England. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many staff at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for the exemplary care they provided over the years. In keeping with Cathie's wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. Cathie was always concerned about the welfare of our four legged friends, and if you wish to honour her memory please consider a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. Cathie will live in our hearts forever. She will always be loved. www.voyagefuneralhome.com
