Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENNIS PETER HOMENUIK January 9, 1949 October 12, 2016 It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Dennis Homenuik, loving and devoted husband, father, dedo, brother and friend. Dennis was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Katherine; brother-in-law Mike Hotsko; and Abbey his Golden Retriever. Dennis will forever be remembered by his wife of 47 years, Jennie; son Jeff (Melissa); daughters, Dana (Royce) Erb, Cindy (Manmeet) Bhatia; grandchildren, Christian and Jackson Homenuik, Andi Erb; and sister Gloria Hotsko. Dennis was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, where he lived on the farm until he moved to Winnipeg in 1967, to pursue a career in the electrical field. He held positions at Federal Pioneer, City of Winnipeg and Manitoba Hydro for over 30 years. Dennis married his childhood sweetheart Jennie Siwicki, on April 26, 1969 and three beautiful children soon followed. Family was everything to him. Regardless of the occasion or event, he was always there to encourage and support his children. In later years, he doted on his grandchildren, spending every moment he could, taking great pleasure in watching them grow. Dennis enjoyed and took great pride in tinkering in the garage, woodworking and fixing anything that needed fixing. There was no challenge too great and any project that he embraced was always completed to "Dennis" standards. He also loved to travel. Whether it was a road trip back home to Kamsack, camping with family and friends or jetting off to see the world he was always planning his next adventure. Dennis was a man of high moral standards with an exceptional work ethic. He was a model husband, father and dedo and never missed an opportunity to tell us how much we were loved. "Forever in our hearts" A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity close to your heart. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I started my electric utility career at Winnipeg Hydro in the mid-90's, and spent 4 years there working closely with Dennis. He had great patience for me as a new distribution engineer and always took the time to teach me about the materials used and the practicality of construction. A terrific person to know and work with Dennis was always someone to look forward to spending time with. My sincere condolences to family and friends. - Posted by: Jim Cooke (co-worker) on: Oct 19, 2016

Dennis was a great man. We are shocked and saddened. We worked with Dennis at Winnipeg Hydro and know how genuine he was. We both saw first hand the dedication and love that Dennis had for his career and his staff. His unwavering focus on safety for his staff and the public showed the strong ethics and integrity that he possessed. He always bridged gaps between the people with ideas and the people that could make things happen. His love of his family was evident in how he spoke of them, with pride and with a smile. We have missed him since his retirement and see that his past efforts continue to resonate through those that have worked with him. Many of us aspire to be as credible and sincere as this outstanding man. He brought the same love of sharing knowledge and helping people out at Home Depot....it was always a pleasure to catch up with him there. Thank you Dennis for all that you've left with us. - Posted by: Rod & Vivian Boychuk (Friends) on: Oct 17, 2016

Dear Jen and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Dennis was a wonderful caring man and our working relationship at Winnipeg Hydro grew into a great friendship. Dennis always shared stories of his grandchildren and we always knew how Jeff, Cindy and Dana were doing. Your loss is so sudden and we share in your sadness.
