I met George when I started working at the airport we were waiting for our 'Red Security Passes' so we spent hours out front of pre board security. George was always entertaining, we laughed so hard at times we wept. He was an awesome man I was saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed. - Posted by: Kath (Work Mate at Wpg Airport ) on: May 23, 2017

My sincere condolences to the family. One of the best people I had worked with. A steady man always ready to back one up when needed. Never shy to voice his thoughts when necessary . You'll be missed George. Ross - Posted by: Ross (Soupie) Campbell (Fellow worker at Stony Mt. ) on: Oct 20, 2016

To Maura and family, words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. George was a genuine and kind person who will be missed dearly. I met George when he used to work at the airport with me. He always had stories to share and jokes to tell and it was such a pleasure to work with him everyday. George will be missed greatly and remembered often. - Posted by: Maria Ferlaino (Friend) on: Oct 19, 2016

Myself and everyone in my family loved George. We loved him not only because he was one of my son Mick's best friends, but because of the way he treated everyone in my family with loyalty and respect. He was larger than life, one of the toughest men my son Wayne said he ever knew, he said about George, the only thing that ever took him down was this horrific illness. It didn't matter what obstacles he faced he would always bounce back, with that little laugh. It seemed to make him tougher. If you were loyal to him, he would be your loyal friend for life. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He would make you laugh just to hear him laugh. He was a wonderful father, he absolutely adored his children, Alistair and Karen. He wasn't only Alistair's father , he was his friend. He didn't just refer to his daughter as Karen, or as my daughter, he always referred to her as "my daughter Karen" I thought that was so enduring. Every time he mentioned her , this was how he referred to her. He adored his children and he was very proud of them. I loved that about him . The last time Mick saw him in the beginning of the summer, he told me that he had never seen George looking so well. It didn't matter when you saw him, it would be like it was just yesterday. We are so sad that we didn't get to see him just one more time. He was the epitome of what a "FRIEND really is" - Posted by: marianne humphreys (friend) on: Oct 18, 2016
