MARIAN CHRISTINE THOMAS (née McCOO) April 25, 1932 - November 4, 2016 Marian Christine Thomas (née McCoo) died peacefully in Winnipeg at River Park Gardens at 84 years of age. Marian is survived by her sons Paul, Michael (Chic Jr.) and Peter (Kelly and grandson Wyatt) and grandson Dan Kuchma (Samantha Swanlund); sister Iris Lieber, Toronto and brother Rick McCoo (Linda), Winnipeg. She is predeceased by her parents Seth and Irene McCoo (Barth), husband William (Chic Sr.) and daughter Kimberley Thomas. Marian was the third child born to Seth and Irene McCoo on April 25, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from Lord Selkirk School on Brazier Street. Marian was a good student and a good, caring friend to her peers. Her caring nature followed her after her secondary education as she enrolled as a nursing student at St. Boniface Hospital. She worked in several wards including as a surgical nurse shortly after graduation. During her nursing studies, she met her future husband William (Chic Sr.) Thomas and were married shortly thereafter. With a growing family Marian left nursing to raise her four children. Marian was a wonderful mother, friend, and hostess, with a passion for entertaining and welcoming people into her home. Marian had a full life and enjoyed watching her children grow up, while finding time to enjoy travel and many pursuits. Her funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
