Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER RANDALL JAQUES Suddenly and unexpectedly, after a long struggle with cancer, Chris Jaques passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016. He was the loving and devoted husband of Gloria (nee Feniuk) whom he married in 1985, dearest father of Blake (Danny Miller), Janette Howard (Stephen), Cassandra Paches (Alex), and Mark (Dana Tougas), and adored Gramps to little grandson Beckham Howard and Mark and Dana's expected baby. Chris' memory will also be cherished by siblings Judy Mistelbacher (Karl), Allan (Valerie), Wade (Jonell), Cathy, Sherry Santa (Steve), Theresa Hurd (Bill), and Lisa Klapprat (Marvin), sisters-in-law Donna Jaques and Helen Feniuk, and many nieces and nephews. Chris was born in Winnipeg on March 8, 1960. He was predeceased by his parents James and Barbara (Ellison) Jaques, brothers Jay and Randall, and nieces Denise Dermek and Corrine Hurd. Chris was employed at Maple Leaf Consumer Foods. Many thanks to the company and work colleagues for their comfort and assistance to both Chris and Gloria during his illness. Special gratitude to Chris' siblings for constantly being there for the family. Family activities always came first in Chris' life whether coaching Cassy or Mark on their basketball teams, cheering for Janette at the swimming pool or gymnastics, going to movies with Blake, or getting the family weekend backyard campfire started. Family events included car trips out west and camping holidays. He was always up for fun such as the traditional family Christmas Eve shenanigans and being Mom's chief assistant preparing the huge holiday dinner feasts. He was a big fan of the Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Game days would see family members at Mom and Dad's to watch and cheer the local teams with them. Playing basketball, going for walks, and biking were favourite pastimes for Dad. Dad was a humble and non-judgmental man of integrity. He was constant in his love for Gloria. They were inseparable and did everything together as a couple. They were excellent role models for our own lives because they were committed to a loving family life which we can strive to emulate. He will be greatly missed but his memory and legacy will continue in our lives. We are left holding him tightly in our hearts knowing we had the privilege and honour of being loved and cared for by such a special person. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In Chris' memory, donations can be made to the Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
