DR. FERNANDO GONZALEZ-PINO It is with heavy hearts and immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of our father Dr. Fernando Gonzalez-Pino, on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the age of 62 years. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife and life partner of 47 years Majorie Claudet Ramos. They had their first kiss in 1969, and have never been apart since. They have shared one heart, one mind, and have been truly one person. Death is not the end of love; death magnifies love and engraves it forever in the memories of those who shared in it. Our father liked to say that parents are the memories of their childrens' futures. Our father left behind beautiful and happy memories for his three children, Marjorie, Edgar, and Fernando Jr. Our father leaves behind his much loved family in El Salvador: his two brothers, Edgar and Lito; sister-in-law Evelyn; his nieces, Sandra, Marta; great-niece Marta Sophia and great-nephew Renesito. His memory will also be cherished by our extended family and friends in El Salvador. His mother Marta Emilia Pino de Gonzalez, whom he loved dearly, raised our father and passed on to him a love of reading, learning, and teaching. Our family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the colleagues, staff, and friends who have worked alongside our father throughout the years. A private family function will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teen Challenge or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

  • This is For You My most loved friend. Sorry for everybody else who read this, but I have to write this in Spanish: Primero quiero pedirte disculpas a ti, a Marjori, a tus hijos y al resto de tu famila. For Those who knew him, Let me Tell you, He Is one of the few men that you can call a Gift from God. - Posted by: Dr. Jose Oscar Soriano (Friend) on: Oct 11, 2020

  • My history with Dr. Pino, is short, but most profound. I have just learned of his passing, thru his co-workers & express my most sincere condolences to his family, almost a year to the day. I am sure they still, and will always grieve his loss, not only to the medical community, but by everyone whose life he touched. With deepest respect and admiration for his untold compassion and contributions to all whose lives have been forever touched by his efforts, and nothing but the fondest of memories. - Posted by: Susan Ivanhoe (Friend) on: Sep 08, 2017

  • I unfortunately just heard about this now and am saddened to hear this news as I'm currently on disability. I worked at St.Boniface hospital with Fernando for many years. He was always friendly, asking me about my son, cared about the people he worked with as well as the patients he cared for and of course his family. I remember the jokes we had and he always had the kindest way about him. Always respectful and wanting to help. My sincerest condolences to his family. He was an amazing man who cared about all people. He will be missed. - Posted by: Jackie Wareing (Co-worker ) on: Feb 27, 2017

  • I was fortunate to work with Fernando at the VGH for a brief time. He was always positive and a true joy to work with. He was compassionate and caring. He loved his family and his face would light up when he talked about his wife and his children. My thoughts and prayers have been with you all over the last week. - Posted by: Jennifer Spencer () on: Nov 25, 2016

  • I had the great pleasure of working with Fernando at St. Boniface Hospital. He greeted others with incredible respect and a sincere, warm smile. It was always a pleasure to discuss patient care, football, families, fun, whatever. He was genuinely interested in how others saw things, and in what he could learn and share. I will miss his welcoming smile and warm laugh. My sincere condolences to family and dear friends. - Posted by: Rick Thurmeier (Co-worker) on: Nov 21, 2016
