Born: Jan 19, 1932
Date of Passing: Nov 19, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN MARY ANN MOORE (nee JENKINS) January 19, 1932 - November 19, 2016 It is with heavy hearts, with her family by her side, we announce that our dear Mom, Doreen, peacefully passed away at the age of 84 after a brief illness. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Laura, Coleen (Denis) and Jeff (Melissa); her grandchildren Celena, Damen (Carla), Chelsea (Todd), Jaclyn (Jeff), Erica and Derek, along with great-grandchildren Caiden, Callie, Sadie, Kyler, Irelynn, Ronyn, and Cambria; and grandpups Jersey, Coach, Sailor, Ryder, Merry and Mayze. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald Moore, and her parents Austin and Louise Jenkins. "Do" was the consummate host, making sure everybody was having a great time and nobody ever leaving hungry! Mom volunteered her time at the Legion for the Ladies Auxiliary, including her duty as Chaplain, which she was very proud of, or at the Clayton Drive Club helping in any way she could, having just finished her term as Club President. Mom loved sports, and whether she was a participant or fan, she gave it her all. She particularly enjoyed playing in the Letellier Family Baseball Tournaments with her family and extended family, the Boiteaus. Her first love was her family, spending countless hours with all of us, whether it was watching sports, attending dance recitals, playing games and cards (a card shark she was!), going tubing with her grandchildren or soaring through the sky on a big Ferris Wheel...at the age of 83! Thank you to Victoria General Hospital staff in the Emergency room and on the 4th Floor, with special mention to nurses Nada, Ian and Dr. "Handsome", for their compassion, care and concern. Our Mom was a kind, thoughtful, energetic, spirited, strong lady. We miss her so very much. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in Doreen's memory to The Children's Make a Wish Foundation, Winnipeg. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I was so saddened to hear of Doreen's passing. I had the pleasure of working with her so many years ago. She was always supportive, helping me when I started working. We had some great laughs at work, she was always up for some fun, especially our lunches at the International Inn. My condolences to her family, they will miss her. - Posted by: Ruth Sawatsky (former co-worker ) on: Dec 03, 2016

Our Deepest & Sincere condolences to Doreen's Family, Friends and Branch #43 Ladies Auxiliary. Doreen will be sorely missed. She was Loved. I will personally miss seeing Doreen around the Legion. She lit up the room with her presence. Her wonderful smile, charm and sense of humour was such a breath of fresh air. I loved her! I will miss seeing that little twinkle she always had in her eye and her hugs. RIP Doreen. Your work as Chaplain has been completed, you've been promoted. - Posted by: Bette Vance (Friend, Chairman Norwood St. Boniface Legion Branch #43, Chairman RCL MBNWO Command) on: Nov 25, 2016

Please accept my deepest sympathies for Doreen's passing. I volunteered with Doreen for the last 8 years at the River Garden 2 Club. She helped me with the lunch and she was one of my tasters... We helped each other when she ended up with the duties of president of the Club... We laughed as she never believed that it would happen...and made sure at the elections she was going to take an easy job with no stress... I will miss her visits to discuss some of her concerns, we had coffee or tea and sometime she would go home with some Belgian goodies that I made as I said, she was my taster... I will miss her and her sense of humour, her energy and our conversation... Rest in peace Doreen we will miss you. - Posted by: Christiane Leroux (Friend from River Garden 2 Club) on: Nov 23, 2016
