Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH GORDON SIMM 1947 - 2016 After a brief illness on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Grace Hospital, Ken passed away with his family at his side. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Donna; loving daughter Kathy (Denis) Perrault; grandchildren, Devon and Ella; sister Cathy; brother Lorrie (Bet); sister-in-law Doreen; brother-in-law Rick; sisters-in-law, Julianne and Betty and numerous nieces and nephews, especially his nephew Rick, Ken was more than an uncle to him. Ken was predeceased by his parents Jack and Lena, his brother Dave, his in-laws John and Ilona Gibson, brothers-in-law Lowell Winchester and George Szor, sister-in-law Gerry Siwicki. Ken was born in Winnipeg and spent most of his life in Charleswood. Ken worked for the City of Winnipeg, Water and Waste Department for 30 years retiring in 1997. He met many friends working with the city, especially Duncan and Ian. Ken was known for his Sunday afternoon fires in the garage watching sports or working on things with his friends, those fires will be missed, Ken was known as the "go to guy". Ken was a member of the Charleswood Legion for 44 years, Ken enjoyed the afternoons in the back room with his friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in ICU for their kindness and compassion they showed towards Ken. A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Charleswood Legion, 6003 Roblin Blvd, in the Tank Room lower level, handicap excess available on the west side of the building. Donna, Kathy, Denis, Devon & Ella. We are so sad of Kens passing. Ken was a wonderful uncle to Rick. They both loved helping each other and were always laughing over a beer in the garage. Ken was a proud man and loved all of you very much. We too will miss him, especially the saturday and sunday visits. Love you Ken, you were a great uncle and friend. Sad to say we will miss Ken's celebration of life as we are out of country until April.
