GEORGETTE MARIE GUAY (née PAINCHAUD) 1927-2016 Peacefully on December 7, 2016, Georgette, surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her nine children, Jacqueline (Robert), Normand (Debbie), Annette, Gisele (Richard), Maurice (Connie), Diane (Dave), Monique (Blair), Gerry (Beverly), Brigitte (Gary); 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings, Louis (Pauline), Marie, Raymond, Annette (Ben); brother-in-law Leonard; and sister-in-law Laurence. She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Angèle Painchaud, Marie-Louise and Pierre Guay, Adrien Guay, Thérèse, George, Isabelle, Maurice and Marthe. Georgette was born on January 29, 1927 in Prud'homme, Saskatchewan, married Adrien Guay on October 14, 1947, and raised her family in St. Eustache, Manitoba. Georgette was involved in her community and enjoyed baking, gardening, curling, leading 4-H (sewing) and bowling. Her great sense of fashion later led her to become manager of Boutique Marie-Claire in Winnipeg Square, where she worked for over a decade. Inspired by her strong faith in God, Georgette enjoyed giving back to her community by volunteering at her local church. Georgette's legacy lives on, through the birth of her newest great-grandchild, who was born within hours of her passing. Special thanks to the staff at Golden Links Lodge.
