Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESE GEMMA MARIE HERDA (nee LACHANCE) January 18, 1963 - December 14, 2016 Sadly on December 14, 2016, Therese (Terry) passed away at her home in Beausejour. Terry was predeceased by her parents Roland and Elaine Lachance, and her sister Monique North. She leaves to mourn her sons Marc and Daniel (Lachance), William and James (Herda), along with her sisters Suzanne, Aline, Gail, and brother Norman, as well as Richard, Robert and a very special granddaughter Katrina. Terry was born and raised in St. Boniface where she learned to speak French. She moved to Beausejour to raise her boys outside the city. Mom ran a home daycare for four years then went to work for a friend in the restaurant industry. It wasn't until 2000 that her true calling of helping others came to fruition. That's when Terry began her career as a health care aide in a personal care home. Mom was known for having a beautiful personality that few could match. Her strength kept others afloat. Her love knew no boundaries, and her sternness kept loved ones out of trouble most of the time. Therese would always worry about others well being over her own. She would do anything for those she loved. Her greatest passion was spending time with family. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, travelling, reading and just being with friends. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St., Winnipeg, with Father Armand LeGal presiding. If friends wish, donations may be made in Terry's memory to Mood Disorders of Manitoba, 100 - 4 Fort St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 1C4. Terry it seems like yesterday we were in the hca course together though it's been 17 years that I was lucky enough to have shared with you as my friend. From the birth of my second child watching you eat a Big Mac saying " I can see the head" to going camping or to Susie's for a girls night, Nights out with Janine ,Linda Nicole and I seem like yesterday. You were so proud of your boys and all their accomplishments and of your granddaughter Katrina who brought such joy to your life. I never expected to have to live without you being a phone call away. I wish we were closer the last few years but will cherish the last visit I had with you in November, it was wonderful to laugh till we were crying. I'll miss that. To the family, we are truly sorry for your loss. Terry is an amazing person, she loved like no other and she will be missed. Forty-four years ago my family moved down the street from Terry. She became my best friend and there were many times when we would go out we would dance the night away. She was the first person that I had a cigarette with and she was the first person that I went to the bar with. Over the years there were times that we lost touch with one another but once we found each other we made sure to never lose touch again. Her smile and her laugh and bright shining eyes I will treasure forever. There are many memories that Lionel and I shared with her and they will be kept in our hearts forever. We miss you Terry and we love you very much. May you rest in peace with your family in heaven. Until we meet again our dear friend.
