HERMAN VAN DER HART April 2, 1946 - December 25, 2016 On Sunday, December 25, 2016, aged 70, Herman Van Der Hart passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, after a courageous, hard fought battle with lung cancer. Herman was predeceased by his parents, Barteld and Janna, his sister Engelina and brother Cornelis. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife Carol, brothers Bert, and Archie (Anne), his daughter Robin (Jason) and son Jason (Evelyn), and grandchildren Michael, David, Emma, Nicholas, Sam, Melissa and Adam, as well as his beautiful stepchildren Melanie (Chris), Kelly (Scott), BJ (Katlyn), grandchildren Brendan, Destin, Chantal, and great-grandson Russell; his niece Tessa and nephew Jessie; his good friend Howard, and many other family and friends. The family would like to thank all the medical staff involved in his care such as CancerCare in Winnipeg, the Chemotherapy staff in Selkirk and especially the Palliative Home Care staff for their compassion. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal service and cremation has taken place. A celebration of Herman's life may be held sometime this summer with family and friends. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday... unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved and missed and very dear.
