Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I hung out with Pete when we were in our early teens (I am 68 now). We were neighborhood friends. I went to school with his sisters Heather and Wendy. He then worked as a pin boy at the Coronation Bowling Alleys. He was a phenomenal bowler and he taught me how to bowl. I myself became a pretty good 5 pin bowler because of his coaching. For the most part, Pete was a quiet kind of shy guy but always very helpful. I have pleasant memories of those years with Pete. May he rest in peace now. My heartfelt condolences go out to Eleanore and Pete's family at this most difficult time. - Posted by: Yolande (Carriere) Pestaluky (Childhood friend) on: Jan 10, 2017

  • I met Pete at the Norwood Legion and he was a great person. He would help when and where he was needed for any occasion. Peter and Eleanor were a great help with anything for the Ladies Auxillary and pitched in where we needed help and always participated in buying tickets for anything for the legion or draws to help the kids go to camp, or sell tickets at the bar for everything from scolarships for University students to help kids get to camp as well. I have found that Peter had a huge heart for his friends, family and most of all he cared for the ones he loved the most. Still had thoughts and wanted everyone around him happy.....shall miss that wonderful smile when he came near you and could find that silver lining in anything, then can walk away and make your day better. He had that way with him and all of his best friends....and with Peter everyone was his best friend. With God calling one very good person home we shall all have heavy hearts but Peter will hold a special part in my heart as in all of ours today. Until we are all together again one day Peter we will miss you but in this hard time I know you will be standing close with us and helping each and everyone of us until we don't hurt anymore and we can see our friend is in no pain and standing with us until we are all together again. Blessings and you're in God's hands now... - Posted by: Judy (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2017

  • Although Peter only spent a couple of years as bar manager at the Fort Garry Legion, he became a true friend to any and all members he had contact with on a daily basis. Peter was dedicated, trustworthy, and most importantly, a great friend to all Legion members who were fortunate to have spent time with him during his short time at Br. 90. Rest in peace Peter----you will be missed!! Condolences to Eleanore and family. - Posted by: Terry Moore (Friend and member of Branch 90) on: Jan 07, 2017
