JOYCE LORRAINE SCOTT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Scott on January 23, 2017, at Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg. Joyce passed away at the age of 75 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Bruce Scott, and her parents Peter and Steffie Bukata. Remaining to cherish Joyce's memory are her daughter Tracie (Gordon), her brother Bob (Gail), her sister-in-law Dolores, and her dear friend Gail, as well as many other friends and family members. Joyce was born March 5, 1941, in Winnipeg, to Peter and Steffie Bukata. She grew up in Transcona, and worked for CN Rail when she finished high school. It was there she met her future husband, Bruce Scott, and they shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 2015. The two shared a passion for travelling and spent many winter vacations together, in warm climates, escaping the Winnipeg winters. She also spent many years working as an educational assistant for the Transcona Springfield School Division, and touched the lives of many students and colleagues. A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the reception centre at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Joyce's family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness and their compassionate care during Joyce's time with them. In lieu of flowers, if people wish to honour Joyce's memory, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3, or to the charity of their choice.
