ERNEST JAMES PATTERSON
Date of Passing: Feb 28, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST (ERNIE) JAMES PATTERSON I am heartbroken and saddened to announce that my husband, Ernie passed away quietly and free of pain in the ICU, at the Victoria General Hospital, at 3:18 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. We will miss Ernie, both family and friends alike, for his strength, determination, dedication and generosity. Ernie's word was his bond. Ernie's friends are too numerous to mention, but he sincerely cared for them all, including all of Karla's wonderful family in Nova Scotia. Ernie was predeceased by his loving mother, Hazel, on April 29, 2005; father James, in November, 1958 and sister June, on August 30, 2012. Ernie is very sadly missed by his wife, Karla, of 49 years. Ernie is survived by his cousins, Arlene Weed and Bob Morton (USA), as well as nieces and nephews. Ernie was born in Winnipeg, but spent most of his working life (in the fields of Human Resources, Credit and Financial Analysis) in many cities across Canada. He was the youngest Manager for Dun & Bradstreet of Canada for the Maritime Provinces and President and Owner of his own Personnel Consulting firm in Edmonton and upon moving back to Winnipeg, was a Personnel Officer for Manitoba Government Services. Ernie loved all sports, especially baseball (as a young man he even had a tryout with a Major League Baseball team, but a bout of illness put a halt to that), the NFL (his pride and joy, Brady and the Patriots) and of course, the Jays and the Jets. Finally, Ernie will find the peace he has sought for so long and will be free of his pain and suffering. Sleep peacefully my dear Ern, as you have truly earned the right to do so. A big thank you to all of the caregivers at the Victoria General Hospital, especially Dr. Jacob and nurse Chris for your kindness and caring. As requested by Ernie, cremation has already taken place, with no service. God bless we will miss you Ernie "you did it your way". In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. www.voyagefuneralhome.com

Hi Karla, We just wanted to say how sorry we are to hear of Ernie's passing, and only hope that he suffering was a short lived as possible. We remember many good times and laughs in the past and listening to Ernies' unbelievable knowledge on so many things, especially sport. We hope that you find comfort in knowing that you are in many people's thoughts a prayers and we wish you comfort and progressive healing as the days go by.
