HERB ORVAL SWEET It is with sadness that the family of Herb Sweet announce his passing on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Beausejour Hospital, at the age of 88 years. Herb will be sadly missed by his daughters Linda (Luc) Lagasse, Brenda (Darwin) Miller, sons Dave, Rob (Sue); grandchildren Dylan, Cole, Ashley, Peyton, Tom and Bobbi; also his special friend Herdis, whom the family would like thank for the loving care shown to Herb over the past many years. Herb was predeceased by his beloved wife Vera, son Ronald, infant son David, parents Thomas and Violet, sister Muriel, and brothers Lawrence and Bill. Herb was born in Winnipeg on June 29, 1928 and lived his entire life in Ostenfeld, Manitoba where he had a love for farming. He hauled pulp for 50 years in Pine Falls and also worked for the Rural Municipality of Springfield hauling gravel for over 30 years. Herb worked hard his whole life, he was not one to sit idle. Even in his retirement years Herb kept himself busy in the tractor. He enjoyed watching his crops grow. Herb was generous and always willing to help someone in need. His presence in the community will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their thanks to Herb's homecare workers, especially Mandy and Brenda, and to the staff at Gimli and Beausejour hospitals for the care and comfort they gave Dad. A celebration of Herb's life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ostenfeld Lutheran Church in Ostenfeld, 54057 Provincial Highway 302. A reception will follow immediately after the service. If friends so desire, donations can be made to a charity of their choice in Herb's name. seasonsfunerals.ca
