Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNESTO FABRO It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernesto Fabro on March 6, 2017, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 69 years. He was predeceased by his parents Filomeno and Nieves Fabro, and his siblings Melchor Fabro, Elizabeth Leason, Ligaya Fabro, Marcelo Fabro, and Violeta Santos. Ernesto will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Ligaya, his children Joy Anne Reyes (Jan Michael), Ernel Fabro (Arlene), Jonel Fabro, and granddaughters Yasmin and Isla Reyes. He also leaves to mourn his siblings and their families in the Philippines: Rudolfo Fabro, Virginia Mapili, Zenaida Zoleta, Filomeno Fabro Jr., Magdalena Matibag, Avelino Fabro, Susana Marquez, Minda Fabro, and Juanita Lichauco in Winnipeg. Ernesto was born on February 29, 1948, and was raised in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines, where he graduated from San Francisco High School. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1982, and was married to Ligaya for 34 years. He retired from Boeing Canada in 2014, where he worked for 29 years. Ernesto was a devoted Catholic, and was a parishioner at St. Mary's Cathedral. He prioritized regular exercise at the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, where he enjoyed running, biking, and using the weight room. He was an excellent cook, and was well known for his specialty Filipino dish, Kare Kare. A Lamay will be held on March 16 and March 17 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Prayers will be on March 17 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on March 18 at 10:00 a.m., St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. with Father Geoffrey Angeles presiding. A special thank you goes out to all the staff at Seven Oaks Unit 2, 5th floor, and Health Sciences Centre Units GA4 and MICU for their exceptional care.
