WALLACE ALFRED TITANICH It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, husband, brother and Papa on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 61. Left to cherish Wally's memory are his wife Colleen (CoCo), children Theresa (Lou) and Christopher (Alexis), grandkids Kaitlyn, Mercedes, Joshua, Hudson, Emma and great- granddaughter Mia. He will be deeply missed by his siblings David (Donna), Joyce (Rick), Grace (Rene) and Terry (Shelley), in laws Fern & Trevor, (Dave) and Carmen, Dolores and Maurice, Mark and Lisa along with numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends, plus his beloved dog Tweety. Wally was born on August 24, 1955 in rural Manitoba to Esther and Walter Titanich. He moved to Transcona in 1970 where he met the love of his life. CoCo and Wally were married on November 10, 1973 and were happily married for over 43 years. He started working as a carman at the CNR in 1972 and retired after 37 years of service. Wally was known as the hardest working carman there and made many friends along the way. Wally was a master of all trades and willingly helped everyone with everything. He especially loved helping his best buddy Greg Pester at the Royal George Hotel. But Wally's greatest joy was his family and his friends. He lived for Sunday sleepovers with Hudson. Retirement brought a chance to try new activities: curling with the Musicians Curling League and Wednesday Night Darts at Ed's. Wally was a homebody but he and CoCo enjoyed trips to Vegas, BC and visits to the lake. There will be a private family service for Wally at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. A week later, there will be "A Celebration of Life" on Wednesday, April 19 from 4:00 p.m. on at The Royal George Hotel, 123 Regent Ave. West. A special thank you to the paramedics and staff at Concordia Hospital. "You were not supposed to leave us this soon, Wally." Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I am completely negligent when following obits. I only stumbled upon this posting on the internet when having a moment of nostalgia and oh my God what a shock. I spoke with Coco several years ago but never got over to say hello. I knew the family well when they were youngsters. There father and mother were the epitome of humanity. Walter senior could make friends with anything even a rock. I see Wally inherited that envious character. I am saddened and disappointed in myself that I didn’t make the time to visit. Please accept my deepest sympathy and deepest affection to you all. Find it in your hearts to forgive me for my tardiness. Much love and kind wishes. • I remember meeting Wally soon after he moved to Transcona, and remember him being soooo easy going and always having the biggest smile. Both those traits he carried with himself as when I met up with him again shortly after his retirement, it was like meeting him all over again ( and it seemed he hadn't aged). RIP Amigo, your presence will always be with us. Doug Perich. - Posted by: Doug Perich (Friend) on: Apr 16, 2017

  • I am truly saddened by this untimely passing of my old friend. I can honestly say I've known Wally for more than a couple of decades and in that time, I've never known Wally to be angry, hurtful or condescending to anyone. Quite the contrary. I've only known Wally to be kind, courteous and the first to help a friend in need. We all lost a really great guy and a dear friend to all who knew him. The world is a little less brighter now. To the Titanich family, I offer my sincerest condolences. My thoughts prayers are with you all. Rest well old friend. Until we meet again. - Posted by: Jake Howell (Friend) on: Apr 12, 2017

  • My condolences go out to Coco and Wally's entire family. He was one of the best people I have ever known. No-one could ever ask for a better friend. I will not be able to stand in my own home without thinking of Wally as he has helped me so much with the renovations there. We called it "2 Old Men Construction". We would usually stay up after everyone had gone to bed and talk into the wee hours. I will miss him for the rest of my life. Thanks for everything, Wally. - Posted by: Don Bouchat (friend) on: Apr 09, 2017
