LUCETTE FRANCINE ZIMOLA (nee LAVOIE) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Lucy Zimola on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the age of 75 in Winnipeg, MB with her loving family by her side, after a brief battle with cancer. Lucy was born August 17, 1941 in Ottawa, ON and married Disma Zimola December 26, 1959 and moved to Thompson in 1960 where she resided for 55 years. Lucy enjoyed needle point, cooking, travelling, playing cards and telling a good old fashion joke. She was very proud that she could speak and write five languages fluently. Lucy is survived by her five children Peter (Rowena) of Winnipeg, MB, Sylvia (Matt) of Thompson, MB, Christine (Bryan) of Airdrie, AB, Tina of Winnipeg and Robert (Kirsten) of Calgary, AB. Lucy had 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, two brothers, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lucy was predeceased by her husband Disma, her father Emile, her mother Annette and her brothers Peter and Michel. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to either the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
