Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAROSLAV (JERRY) VESELY February 18, 1938 - May 7, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jaroslav (Jerry) Vesely. We were able to celebrate his 79th birthday together as a family earlier this year. Jerry is survived by Helena, his loving wife of 53 years; sons Jerry Jr. and Eddie (Julie-Anna); and granddaughters Brooke and Lauren. He is also survived by his brother Frantisek and his family, all in the Czech Republic. He was predeceased by his parents Frantisek and Bozena, and sister-in-law, Drahuska. Jerry was born in Tabor, Czechoslovakia. He immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1969 with wife Helena and first son Jerry. He enjoyed working as a draftsman at Versatile and Co-op Implements. All of his life, he had a passion for sports, especially cycling. He loved to spend holidays travelling across Canada with his family and friends. He spent many weekends at his cottage enjoying the sound of birds and tranquility of the forest. Jerry was diagnosed with dementia several years ago. Thank you to all the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their utmost compassion and respect this past year. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
