MELQUIADES (JUN) TRINIDAD JR. Peacefully, with family by his side, Melquiades "Jun" Trinidad Jr., passed away at Victoria General Hospital, on May 30, 2017, at the age of 72 years. Our beloved father was a loving and caring soul. He will be remembered as a man whose happiness was rooted in making sure those he loved were happy and loving towards each other. Predeceased by his mother and father, Emerenciana and Melquiades Trinidad Sr. and nephew Alan Trinidad. He is survived by his devoted wife, Nelly Trinidad. He is forever remembered by his two daughters: Jennifer Woo (Richie), grandchildren, Riley, Ryland, Rielle and Rowyn, and Jasmin Trinidad (Giovani), grandchildren, Hayden and Jayda, and son Junel Trinidad. Jun is survived by his sister Linda Marfori (Wilfredo Sr.), nephew Wilfredo Jr. and brothers, Oscar Trinidad (Annie), nieces Melanie and Nicole, and Romy Trinidad. In 1980, at the age of 35, he brought his wife and three children to Canada in hopes of starting a better life. He worked at Cara Flight Kitchen retiring after 22 years of service. During his retirement years, he enjoyed travelling back to the Philippines where he found a renewed sense of freedom and pride. People were drawn to his infectious positive energy and innate sense of compassion. The remaining years of his life were spent nurturing and caring for his grandchildren whom he adored and always placed first. This pure love and affection brought him extreme joy and happiness. Dad will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten. Lamay (viewing) will be held at 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on Saturday, June 3 and 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight on Sunday, June 4 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Emile Church, 556 St. Anne's Road.
