BEVERLY ANN PRATICO (BAUER) April 11, 1955 - May 29, 2017 Bev passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer, in Abbotsford Regional Hospital, at the age of 62. She is survived by her partner of 15 years, Jim Praud, and his family members in British Columbia and Alberta. She is also survived by ex-husband Rick Pratico, sons David (Erin) and Andy, and granddaughter Lexi. She also leaves to mourn brothers Doug (Janice) and Dave, niece Kaylyn, nephew Mark (Britney), and great-nephew Logan. Bev was predeceased by father Harry, mother Bernice, and brother Bob. She was born in Kitchener, ON, lived in Camp Borden for a few years and moved to Winnipeg in 1965. She spent many happy times and holidays vacationing in Ontario at the Dorscht cottage, swimming, boating and enjoying the company of her many cousins in Waterloo and Hanover, ON. Bev had many friends going through school, but in particular was close with Laurie McRae and Sue Budge. She graduated from Tech Voc School in 1972. She met Rick in 1972, and got married in April of 1973. They lived in Winnipeg and in 1974, her first son David was born and second son Andy was born in 1979. They were transferred and moved to Calgary in 1984. Bev moved to other places in Alberta before moving to British Columbia for health reasons, and she remained there with her last residence being in Chilliwack. The family thanks Jim for his devotion to Bev over the past 15 plus years right up to her final days. We would also like to thank the Oncology and emergency staff, and friends who visited her at the hospital there. Bev was cremated and will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery in Winnipeg on Friday, June 16 at 2:30 p.m., in a graveside ceremony for family and friends only. If desired, donations can be made to the Cancer Society.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Bev and I met when we were both hired on at Walmart in Nanaimo, I had lived in Manitoba and Alberta so that was what connected us. We hit it off right away. We had a lot of good laughs, trust me working for Walmart we needed those laughs. Then she moved to Victoria, and I did not see her again, but we stayed in touch over Facebook. Bev was a beautiful gentle person, and I will miss her terribly. I am however happy she is not suffering anymore. I will always miss her lovely smile. Fly with the angels Bev, I am sure I will see you again. - Posted by: Dawn Diamond (Friend) on: Jun 17, 2017
