Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER (ALEX) RACZENKO March 3, 1953 - St. Boniface, Manitoba June 10, 2017 - Calgary, Alberta It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alex Raczenko, of Calgary, AB, formerly of Winnipeg, at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the age of 64 years. Alex carved himself a career in computer consulting starting with Rogers and Associates, but quickly switched to consulting firm ownership in Calgary culminating with DKW Systems Ltd. These experiences allowed Alex to become a mentor to others in the startup arena. He was Entrepreneur in Residence with Innovate Calgary for many years when the "normal" duration was one year. Most recently he was working as a Technology Development Advisor - Technical for the government of Alberta. For entrepreneurs seeking help, Alex was like an oasis in a desert. Finally someone could really make a difference. As a pitch coach he had no equal. The companies he coached regularly won pitch competitions all over the world. Alex made a difference. Alex is survived by his mother Jean, sister Laura (Derrick), sister-in-law Donna, niece Alexandra, nephew Nicholas, all of Winnipeg, and his beloved dog Cia. He is also survived by a host of friends and business associates in Calgary and area. Alex was predeceased by his father Nicholas, brother Peter and his grandparents. A celebration of Alex's life will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Richmond's Pub, 3919 Richmond Road S.W., Calgary, beginning at 3:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg at a later date. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Alex. In 1990 I relocated to Calgary and met Alex through DKW Systems. Alex and associates at DKW were instrumental in helping me to get established in the IT field in Calgary. He helped many people over the years. It was always a pleasure to cross paths with Alex.
