JEANETTE DECOFF (nee BROCKLEHURST) March 19, 1933 - June 21, 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved, wife, mother, and grandmother, Jeanette DeCoff, on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 84 years. Jeanette was born to Maxwell and Alexandra Brocklehurst (nee McPhee). She grew up in Sydney, Cape Breton, N.S. and spent many summers with her grandparents in Irish Cove. Jeanette had a variety of jobs before settling on a career in Hairdressing. On September 27, 1958 she was united in marriage with Everett DeCoff in Sydney, NS. They followed Everett's career with The Royal Bank of Canada to Halifax, then Charlottetown, P.E.I and back to Dartmouth/Halifax and in 1974 moved to Thunder Bay, ON, then settled in Winnipeg, MB in 1976. Family was important to Jeanette and she made sure they were taken care of, including traditional Sunday Suppers. She enjoyed spending time at Clear Lake and after Everett's retirement, travelling and spending winters in Florida for the past 19 years. She was predeceased by her parents Maxwell and Alexandra Brocklehurst, brother Charlie and sisters, Maureen and Sandy. She is survived by her husband, Everett and children, Frank, Sandy (Paul Allard), Kara and granddaughter Breann, sisters Gerry (Alex MacDonald), Theresa (Ray Steele) and brothers Greg (Ingrid) and Max (Donna). A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road, Windsor Park with reception to follow in the Parish Hall. A private family interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. We would like to thank her care providers, Dr. Eva Smil, Dr. Houston at CancerCare, and Dr. Hiebert, Nurses, and Health Care workers at Riverview Palliative Care. Words cannot express our deepest appreciation for the care, comfort, kindness and respect provided to Jeanette in her last week. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Riverview Health Foundation, One Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
