EVELYN MARGARET KANTOR (KERNAGHAN) September 21, 1924 - August 20, 2017 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Evelyn Kantor passed away peacefully on August 20 at the age of 92. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Dale (Gail) and their son Kyle, and Diane (Stuart) Gilman and their children, Thomas, Daniel and Emily; her brothers, Edward and Leonard (Deanna) Kernaghan and their children, Karen and Darcy. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband John, her brothers, John, Robert, Raymond, Milton and Gordon Kernaghan, and her sister Edith Trembath. Born on September 21, 1924 to Margaret and Samuel Kernaghan in Cartwright, Manitoba. Evelyn was one of nine children, she had one sister and seven brothers. After graduating Grade 12, Evelyn moved to Winnipeg and graduated from business school with a typist degree. She married the love of her life John Kantor on November 17, 1951. She dedicated her life to her husband John and her two children, Dale and Diane. Evelyn Kantor lived a good, long life, enjoying her family, friends and helping out with the church and volunteering for meals on wheels. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, with interment and reception to follow.
