Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA GRACE PRETTY (HAWKINS) Born Winnipeg MB - July 28, 1952 Passed away - September 2, 2017 Barbara Grace Pretty passed peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. She will be missed greatly by her daughter Kahla; son Jade; her brother Ronald; sister Linda, and long-standing partner Bob Dubesky. Barbara was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth Louise and Leonard Hawkins. A Celebration of Life will be held for Barbara on October 7 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at 61 Tyndall Ave. One of Barbara's favourite poems was "Footprints". Barbara has left many footprints and we were inspired to write a poem about who she was and how she lived. In Memory of Barbara Grace Pretty A Spot at Barb's Table Her door was always open, A safe harbour, a home. A spot at her table, Meant you were Never alone. She valued her friends, She was loyal and strong. And everyone knew, Her word was her bond. Adored and adoring, Not much you could do, When she tossed A wink and a smile, Directed at you. Her Spirit leaves Footprints, Of Love on our hearts. Daughter, Mother and Friend, Of Our Lives She's A Part.

My heart goes out to all whose path Barbara crossed. She leaves for us her wonderful children. Kahla I know best and anyone who could give birth to and nurture such a wonderful young lady has to have been a special person. In one of her birthday cards I wrote: "Sad will be the day when one phones and the other one is not there to answer". We have a friendship that spanned 55 years, she knew where my buttons were and I knew where her buttons were and we pressed them quite often as family tends to do. Barbara you leaving so early leaves a huge hole in my life as we still had a few plans we weren't able to complete.
