MARJORIE IRENE HUGHES (nee ROBINSON) It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Marjorie Hughes on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Poseidon Care Centre at the age of 94 years. Marjorie will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 64 years, Harold; their sons, Alf (Keren), Phil (Christina) and Bill (Kim); grandchildren, Allan, Rick (Mel), Jessica (Ian), Devan, Alida and Claire; great-grandchildren, Kaylen, Sydney, Tabitha and Madeline. She is also survived by her brothers, Ken and David and close friend Agnes (wife of brother Doug); along with many members of the Hughes and Robinson families. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Constance; brother Doug and sisters, Dorothy and Joyce. Marjorie was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on January 18, 1923. She moved to Winnipeg, where she met and married the love of her life, Harold on March 21, 1953. She was an excellent seamstress, sewing teacher, a longtime member of the Transcona Memorial United Church, the United Church Women and the Rebekah Lodge. Marjorie was an incredible home maker, she took much pride in her flower garden and made the most incredible apple and blueberry pies. Time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was deeply treasured. Marjorie had a beautiful smile and was always happy, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue West, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba or to the Transcona Memorial United Church Building Fund. seasonsfunerals.ca
