ANNE GALKA Peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2017, Anne passed away at the Maples Personal Care Centre, at the age of 86 years. Anne is survived by her sister, Olga Laden, nephew, Lawrence Halowaty and wife Patti Ridgway, great-nephew Matthew, niece, Lila Hunt and husband David, great-nieces Chantal, Cyndal (Steven), niece Natalie Laden and Craig Winznowich, nephew Alan Laden, and niece Kim Zaborniak and husband Mitchell and family. She is also survived by her daughter Laura Lee Sawyer and family, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Anton Galka, her parents Steve and Mary Halowaty, her brother Dan Halowaty, and friend Herb Buron. Anne was born in Springfield, Manitoba on October 23, 1930. She worked for the Pepsi bottling plant for 20 years and retired as a lead hand. She was a determined and proud woman, whose passion in life was gardening with flowers, especially roses and lilies. Her yard was her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes and making dainties. Anne also loved her pets over the years, her poodle Yogi and her Siamese cat, Candy. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent in OakBank, MB. seasonsfunerals.ca
