To our dear Dorcas. You were such an interesting woman from Antiqua. I enjoyed your stories. You were such a good friend to my Mother, Alice. You stressed to me the importance of family. You wept when my mother died in June. Dorcas I can see you in heaven enjoying your ginger ale. You will not have to wait for me to bring you ginger ale. You will now be enjoying your sweets because John would bring you sweets, but then you were not allowed sweets. Dorcas you touched many many lives. We loved you and we miss you. It was a true pleasure knowing Dorcas. She was feisty but friendly and kind especially to John's mother.She had no hesitation with pointing out the rights and wrongs of the world and politians Canadian and foreign but also saw the goodness in life and enjoyed a good laugh. It was amazing to see light in her eyes when she talked of her upbringing and early years in Canada and while she had fond memories of the land of her birth she loved being Canadian. Spirited and enlightened conversations peppered by outrage at the antics of our leaders , she epitomized a true Canadian and we are blessed for having known her.
