LINDA DOREEN COOK April 1, 1952 - October 15, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce that after a short, brave battle against cancer, Linda has left us. Linda is predeceased by her dad Carl; brother Clifford and her beloved cat Oliver. She is survived by her mum Ruth; sister Allison (Darren); brother Garth (Phyllis); sister-in-law Marjorie; six nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews. In 1989, Linda felt a change was needed and moved to Calgary, Alberta. After working diligently to obtain her degree as a Certified Professional Purchaser, she enjoyed her career at the City of Calgary and the Calgary School Board. In January of 2007, Linda moved back to Winnipeg to further her career at the University of Manitoba and Manitoba Housing, finally retiring in May of 2015. This spring, Linda grew restless in retirement and started a new career as a volunteer at Kin Place in Oakbank. This was a complete change for her and she loved every minute of it. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Centre. A special thank you to Linda's dear friends, Shirley, Carol and Sue. At Linda's request, a cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverview Health Center or CancerCare. Seasonsfunerals.ca
