MARGARET LYNNE ANTONIUK (nee REMPEL) July 12, 1951 - October 26, 2017 Daughter's Log, Stardate 95420.9. My mother, Margaret Lynne Antoniuk (nee Rempel), has died. Diagnosed with COPD, the disease slowly decayed her lungs to critical levels. Resistance was futile. Through her life, Marge was capable of warp speeds and was an essential part of our federation, as a sister-ship to Irma Brown and Erica Ferchuk, as a mother-ship to Ellen (Wally) Kotula and Jennifer (Fortunato) Lim, as a gramma-ship to Kate and Anne Kotula and to Seraphina, Khalil, and Amelia Lim, and, as a life partner-ship to Frederick Antoniuk. These are the surviving fleet now at the front. Great adventures were often in search of her love for horses, cars, and fishing, taking her on many memorable adventures of which she was lucky to escape alive. She once nearly broke through a frozen lake on a snowmobile. As a wee child, she dared to ride the farmer's bull during breeding season. As a teen she loved drag racing the '68 Chevelle with Freddy by her side. Sixty-six times she flew around the sun. On her captain's deck was Shamrock and Dewey her favourite horses, Kayla her favourite retriever, one-eyed Tom her favourite attack cat (Frederick's former alarm clock), and Peanuts who was found hours from death and saved by my mom with a few sardines and a whole lot of love. There were no red shirts onboard. Her away ship, the '74 blue Lund broke the waves at Chesley's, Brereton, the Bird River and Lake of the Woods. She often beamed down to the Crow Duck and the East Gammon and the whole fleet flew in formation to visit family and friends in faraway galaxies. Appreciation to her onboard crew of heath care workers, homecare aides, nurses and doctors. These are the voyages to be shared on Saturday, November 4 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Mosaic Funeral Chapel and Reception Centre, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Please join star command to provide supplemental logs. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Transplant Manitoba or to the Respiratory Hospital. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Dear Jennifer, Ellen and Fred, I'm so sorry for your loss of your beloved Marg. I have fond memories of all of you and especially Marg, dining at The Eaton Teahouse in 2003-2007... She was a wonderful woman and a smile on her face. Cherished the memories. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Nancy. (former waitress at the Garden on Eaton). - Posted by: Nancy Molnar née Froese (Acquaintance) on: Nov 19, 2017

  • A friend is like another sister, a very special person, to have fun with, to laugh with, to make memories with. That friend was Marge Antoniuk. I had the honor and privilege of that sisterhood for over 40+ years with this wonderful person. My first recollection of Marge goes back to the early 70's when I saw and met this tall, slim, beautiful dark-haired young woman with bright green eyes. We connected almost immediately and remained close for all these years. Marge was energetic, very quick-witted, strongly opinionated and extremely smart. So many wonderful memories, filled with fun-filled laughter, numerous adventures, long conversations over suppers, etc. How do you say goodbye to a friend that you've known and loved, deeply admired, and respected? My heart is aching over this tremendous loss. Take care of her, Dear Lord, as she takes her rightful place in the Heavens. Rest in Peace Marge, until we see each other again..... Our thoughts and prayers go out to Fred, Ellen, Wally, Jennifer, Fortunado, and their respective families, whom we love dearly and have always considered them as an important part of our own family. - Posted by: Rose Klippenstein (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2017
