TRUDY ELSIE TUMAK (nee GUENTER) September 22, 1949 to October 31, 2017 Trudy Tumak passed away peacefully at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 68. She is predeceased by her father George Guenter; her mother Mary Guenter and her brother-in-law Bruno Epp. She is survived by her husband Ron Tumak; her daughters, Heather (Bryan) Welsh and Nicole Jenkinson; her grandchildren, Cara Jenkinson, Casey Jenkinson, Lyndon Welsh and Erica Welsh and her siblings, Henry (Betty) Guenter, Anne Epp, Eva (Clarence) Peters, Bill (Mayruth) Guenter, Mary (Maurice) Vellacott and Rose Guenter. Trudy grew up on a farm near Hague, Saskatchewan. After high school, she attended one year of bible school at Briercrest Bible College then moved to Saskatoon. She attended business college and became a medical secretary which she very much enjoyed. She later married Ron and had two daughters. After the birth of her first daughter she decided to become a homemaker. The family moved to various places between the years of 1987 and 1996. These places included Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Montreal and Burlington. The last move was to Winnipeg. While living in Sudbury, Trudy went back to college for a year and obtained a Floral Design certificate. She was quite proud of her accomplishment. Trudy ran her own floral design business for several years. She attended many craft shows to sell her arrangements. For the remainder of her working career, Trudy worked for various department stores and Fabricland. Trudy enjoyed her time at home with her children. She had a big garden each summer, meticulously decorated the home, sewed her children many clothes (even made them dolls and stuffed animals), baked her own bread and canned many fruits each fall. During the summer, the family travelled and went on many camping trips. Trudy has always been an active in her church. Over the years she helped in children's Sunday School, sang in the choir, took part in ladies' activities and worked in the kitchen. She loved the Lord and did her best to instill Godly principles in her children and grandchildren. In her retirement years, Trudy enjoyed volunteer opportunities in connection with her church. She ran a Bible study with the ladies from Union Gospel. She enjoyed developing those relationships and mentoring them on their walk with God. One of Trudy's greatest joy has been spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She spent much of her time looking after Cara and Casey in Winnipeg and going to visit Lyndon and Erica in Saskatoon. In her final weeks, Trudy often repeated "in Jesus I will put my trust". She is now home with her saviour, Jesus Christ. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
