Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA DARLENE COURCHENE (nee ABRAHAM) On a beautiful snowy day, Monday, November 6, 2017, it is with great sadness that our "mommy" left us for paradise, just shy of our late dad's birthday (November 13, 1946). Once again Dad got the best early spiritual birthday gift by receiving his one love, our mother. Jesus took our mother because her work here on earth is done. She has done a wonderful job as a mother for all her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Another beautiful spirit gone but she is not done watching over her loved ones. She will always be with us spiritually and in our hearts forever and always. Mother was born on April 22, 1951 to the late Kenneth and Nellie Abraham. She was married to Norman D. Courchene on September 30, 1967 and together they had five children. She leaves her son Preston (Tammy), daughters Darlene (Lawrence) Robinson, Bernalda Jean (Melvin) Robinson, Claudine Courchene (Edwin) and Sheryl L. Courchene, her grandchildren Larissa, Carson, Gabrielle, Noah (Kelsey), Dakota, Arien, CJ, Linden, Shauna, Courtney, Charley, Rhilynn, Kameshia, Cory, and a new great-granddaughter, Shaelyn Semiah May. Mom said she felt so ticklish in her tummy when she heard that she was going to be a great-grandma. She also leaves behind her sisters Arlene (Lloyd) Guimond, Augusta Fontaine, Tina Abraham (Harlow), Florence Buboire and Margaret Bruyere, sisters-in-law Mary (Wilfred), Lyla (Terry), Bernice, Lena, Lorna and Isabelle, brothers-in-law Neil (Darlene), Nelson (Doreen), Sam (Laverne), Paul, Ephrem (Josephine) and Richard (Mabel), uncles Henry Swan and Ernest McPherson, and aunties Alma Edel, Matilda Dorie and Mary Rose Abraham. Mom was predeceased by her husband Norman, mom and dad Kenneth and Nellie, mother and father-in-law Catherine and Edward, grandchild baby Sterling, sisters-in-law Norma Swan, Harriet Bunn and Lillian Spence, brothers-in-law Wallace (Helen), Eric, Mike and Jake Kent, uncles Bill Abraham, Wilfred (Margaret) Abraham and Frank Swan, aunties Therese Sinclair and Jackie McPherson, nieces Elena Abraham and Tiffany Abraham, and nephew Chris Courchene. Pallbearers: Joseph Abraham, Evan Courchene, Harold Dorie, Nelson Courchene, Cory Courchene and Sam Courchene. Wake services began Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Norman and Linda Courchene's residence. Funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Christ Church Anglican, Sagkeeng First Nation. Officiating will be Reverends Richard and Nancy Bruyere. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the following: Carol Twoheart and Denise Bruyere and staff at George M. Guimond Care Centre, Dr. Ota and Dialysis staff at the Pine Falls Health Complex, the Sagkeeng Home Care workers Tammy, Gracie and Tania, Sagkeeng Chief and Council and Medical Transportation staff at Sagkeeng Health Centre. Mom...If there were a billion ways to express our love for you, we would have exhausted them and looked for a few more too. Because there is no way that can prove to be worthy to describe how much we love the woman we call Mommy. Thank you Creator; for the precious gift of Linda. I know she is in the Spirit World, greeted there with the loving and open embrace of her loved one, her husband Norman. Linda was a caring, gentle and loving woman to all she knew. She even went as far as accepting her daughters' friends as her girls...how I will miss her friendship and kind words. I take comfort in knowing that her love and values are passed on to her children. How grateful I am to have know such a faithful and strong woman. Linda and Norman were always there with a kind word and hug when needed. How the world would benefit if all couples were as loving and understanding as Mr. & Mrs. Peace and love to her girls and son Preston. She is in the arms of Creator and those of your dad Norman. How beautiful the sight must be. - Posted by: anissa bunn (friend of the family) on: Nov 09, 2017
