JOHN (JACK) EDWIN PALMER It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Jack on November 13, 2017 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 93 years. He is predeceased by his son Chris, wife Bernice and brother Norman. Jack leaves to mourn his daughters, Jill Mizak (Gordon) and Darcy Watson (Roger); his very dear friend Inge Shaw; his daughter-in-law Debbie Palmer; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jack was born July 3, 1924 in Winnipeg to Vera and Frank Palmer. He was the older brother to Norman. Jack married Bernice in June 1949; they enjoyed over 50 years together travelling to Texas for the winter months and then Victoria B.C. Jack served in the Navy during the Second World War as a Stoker from 1943 to 1945. He was employed by CP Rail from the age of 17 until his retirement at the age of 60 when he retired as an Electrical Supervisor. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to extend a sincere thank-you to the staff of the Shaftesbury Retirement Residence for their care.
