Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELEANORE ROSEMARIE DEMKE (nee LISKE) February 10, 1944 - November 10, 2017 Peacefully with her husband by her side, Eleanore passed away on November 10, 2017 at Concordia Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband Gord of 54 years, daughter Bev (Ron), son Stan (Gretchen); granddaughters, Samantha (Rance), Jocelyn, Larissa (Scott), Amanda (Kris); and great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Lianelys. She also leaves to mourn her brothers, Gordon (May), Jerry, sister Irene (Sheldon) and numerous brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Minnie and her sister Lillian. Eleanore was raised in Whitemouth, MB. She met her husband at a Sadie's Hawkins Dance in 1961 and the two were married in 1963. They settled into Transcona in 1977 with their two children. Eleanore worked at Smurfit BMI for 30 years before retiring in 2004. She enjoyed spending time her with family, going out for coffee with friends and meeting new people. Her passion for bowling spanned over 40 years, and took on the role of secretary of Golden Agers bowling league for the past six years. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to her raspberry bushes, puzzles, cooking, and doing home renos. Eleanore was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Eleanor's life will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care you provide during this very difficult time.
