EDDIE KASKOW
Born: May 30, 1930
Date of Passing: Nov 29, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDDIE KASKOW In loving memory of Eddie who passed away on November 29, 2017 in Concordia Hospital at the age of 87 years. He was predeceased by his wife Jessie, sister Gladys Sourisseau, brother-in-law Adrien Sourisseau, brother Joe Kaskow, and brother-in-law Al Bayko. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Glenn, daughter-in-law Darlene, sister Stella Bayko, sister-in-law Linda Kaskow, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Eddie was born on May 5, 1930 and had many great stories about growing up in St. Boniface. He met the love of his life, Jessie Habuza, in 1950 and they married on July 4, 1953. He missed her dearly after she passed away in 2009. Eddie was a very hard-working man who spent his entire career in the garment industry. He and Jessie built their home in East Kildonan in 1956, when it was a brand new development. His pride and joy, Glenn, was born in 1959. Eddie was a wonderful husband, father, neighbour and friend. He welcomed Darlene into the family in 1987, and shared a very special bond with his "favourite" daughter-in-law. Eddie had many fond memories of trips to Clear Lake, going to Grand Beach and the Whiteshell for picnics, and traveling with his family to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, and California. He enjoyed puttering around the yard and chatting with people in the neighbourhood. Family was everything to Eddie, and he loved to spend time with them. He enjoyed going to Goldeyes games, having lunch with his son, and helping anyone who needed a hand. He was a lover of music and enjoyed going to the Wellness Institute where he always looked forward to having coffee with friends. After residing in his home for 61 years, Eddie moved to Concordia Village this spring, and was looking forward to new adventures in this next chapter of life. A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home (455 Lagimodière Blvd.) with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

We met Eddie at Wellness many years ago and got to know him as one of our friends. He was always a joy to chat with, and would often bring in coupons that he had clipped to share with us. He will be sadly missed by his many friends at Wellness. Our sincere condolences go to his family. Joyce & Chic Seabrook - Posted by: Joyce & Chic Seabrook (Friends) on: Dec 06, 2017

Glenn, I noticed your father’s obituary and it reminded me of when I was growing up and our family lived down the street from your family and how your mom and dad always took a moment to have a nice conversation with me when I saw them. As a child and teenager those conversations always had a way of making me feel I mattered. They were lovely, lovely people. I am sorry for your loss and know you have beautiful memories of them both. - Posted by: Tanis Mulder (Hurst) (neighbour) on: Dec 06, 2017

A very nice Gentleman who was my wife's favorite uncle, was hoping to see him over the holidays as we live near by, always extra nice to our kids. To my wife's cousin Glenn and his wife, we are very sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Sandra and Rick Peters (Husband of His niece) on: Dec 04, 2017

Mr. Kaskow was such a nice neighbor. He always bought Sophie freezies or little gifts for the season he was so sweet. I knew he was always watching the houses and felt safer with him around. Always loved to visit and chat and even shared a beer once. Neighbourhood wasn't the same without him. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Christy and Sophie (Neighbour) on: Dec 03, 2017

I was sorry to hear of Eddie's passing. He was a great, fun guy. I have fond memories of him visiting with my Dad, having a beer or two in the back yard on Robin Hood Cresent. Later my Mom and I would look forward to our visits with him at Concordia Village. He loved a good conversation with neighbours and friends, and oh how he loved to be outside in his yard. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. - Posted by: Cindi Cain (daughter of Betty & Wilf Churko ( next door neighbours)) on: Dec 03, 2017

My condolences on your Dad's passing. We was a great guy. I remember when I would be at my mom and dad's he would be out walking and always stopped in. Always cared how we were doing. He loved chatting especially with my son. He made time for everyone. - Posted by: Barbara Reid Morrison (Neighbour) on: Dec 02, 2017
