STANLEY BUCHKOWSKI July 1, 1932 - January 9, 2018 With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Stanley Buchkowski, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, on January 9, 2018. Stan will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, Helen, children, Gail (Tim) and Richard (Karen), and grandchildren, Justin (Rhine), Dylan (Avery), Chris (Taniesha), and Tyrone (Emily). Stan started his career as a mechanic and worked his way up to civil technician at Manitoba Hydro, where he worked for 29 years. A major source of amusement for Stan was playing cards, including computer Solitaire, and he could always be counted on for a good game of Crib. He was also a sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed the Goldeyes, and wouldn't miss a game, including on the radio. After that Bombers came a close second, followed by the Jets. When he wasn't watching sports, he loved doing sports, which included golf, curling, pool, and occasionally baseball. Working or not, Stan could often be found fixing anything that needed repairs. One of the things that made Stan the good man he was, he was always there to help when you needed it. A private memorial service celebrating Stan's life will be held at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, on January 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stan's memory to The Heart & Stroke Foundation. 1839 Inkster Blvd. 1006 Nairn Ave. 204-275-5555
