Mr Doell was a very good role model for me. As my mother was divorced he was one of a few male role models I could look up to. He was a hard working man who supported his family and was always a gentleman. I remember him being kind, generous, funny and very well spoken and mannered. He had taken us skiing when I was younger and had lent his Chevette and Cadillac to his son, Dirk, so we could go to school or just drive around. I will never forget the Doells as they treated me very kindly. To this day Dirk's parents will always be remembered as making my childhood a better place. Rest in peace you truly were a blessing from God. - Posted by: steve Labelle (friend of his son dirk) on: May 19, 2018

Dear Mary and family. I was so sorry to read that Don passed away. You and Don were such a blessing for me and my two children. I thanked my parents in heaven often that I found the two of you to be their caregivers. You made my life so much easier, knowing I did not have to worry about them during the day, that they were in very good hands. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Dear Mary and family, I am sorry for the loss of your husband ,father , friend.... Mary and Don were caregivers to my two children when I was a single working mom. They were there for me in hard times, when children were sick and showed empathy and patience. The kids still remember not eating their peas, and hiding them in their pockets.. Don patiently pushing them on the swings at playtime. Often I would drive by and see the house and wonder if I should pop in and say hi..if you were still looking after little ones and how you were managing. . time waits for no one..I wish you strength in your time of need.
