Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTED (EDWARD) MACKERETH October 21, 1947 - February 14, 2018 Ted (Edward) Mackereth peacefully rested on February 14, 2018, with his daughter and wife by his side. Ted is survived by his wife Heather; daughter Laura Ashley (Dan); grandchildren (Jack, Emmett and Wren); and his little sister Maxine (Barry), nephews, nieces and cousins. Dad was born in Fort William and later moved to Winnipeg, MB. Growing up, Ted spent a lot of time with horses and bicycles. This love for bikes, with or without motors, stayed with dad throughout his life. He instilled this love in his sister, daughter, son and grandchildren. Ted was a "protector and helper". Whether it was helping his sister, wife, daughter or grandchildren learn how to ride a bike, or drive a standard. Dad loved to be active. We have fond memories of weights gently clanking in the basement in the early morning hours so that he could spend time with his family in the evening. To Ted, family was always first, a value he groomed into all of us. Thank you for being the husband/dad/papa dreams are made of. Our sincere thanks to the Winnipeg Paramedics, Winnipeg Fire Department and the Emergency and Three North Medical team at Grace Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. You fought hard Dad an example of strength every step of the way. Be at peace Ted ride with the wind. We love you.
