JOSEPH STEWART Peacefully with family and friends by his side, Joseph Stewart passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on February 14, 2018 at the age of 77 years old. Joseph will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sons, Derrick, Paul, Errol and Mark; also his grandchildren, Latoya, Sarah, Keyon, Alicia, Carson and rest of family in England, Jamaica, Canada, America and all of his friends. Joseph was born on September 19, 1940 in the parish of St. Ann's, Jamaica to his parents Mary Jane Hall and Clarence Joseph Stewart. His parents had 10 children: Inez, Bonzy, Verona, Joseph, Valda, Eda, Dorothy, Sylvester, Arthur and Cardel. Joseph is survived by siblings: Verona, Valda, Eda, Sylvester and Cardel. Joseph traveled to Nottingham, England in 1962, where he joined his father, three sisters and his brother. In the U.K., Joseph joined the British army in England as an Army Reservist but after a short period of time he left the army to pursue a career in welding. Joseph got married to Joan Annette Douglas on August 26, 1967 in England. They moved to Canada in 1975 and he worked at CN for 20 years. A celebration of Joseph Stewart's life be held on March 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the home care staff, Windsor Park Place, St. Norbert Nursing home staff and St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care.
