SIMONE BLANCHE MARIE JOYAL (née PLAMONDON) In loving memory of Simone Blanche Marie Joyal who passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018, at Action Marguerite (Foyer Valade), at the age of 95. Maman was predeceased by her husband Gérard, her son Yves (Lorraine), her parents Achille and Olivine Plamondon, her four brothers and seven sisters, and her grandsons Kevin and Ben. Left to cherish in her memory are her children Aurore (Gérard), Robert (Karen), Louise (John), Roger (Lucille), Richard (Mariette), Eveline (Alan - deceased), Diane (Hugo), Marc (Sherri-Lee - deceased), André (Dianne), Phillippe (Penny), Charles (Ruth), Paul (Nicole) and Nicole (Dave). Maman leaves behind a legacy of 14 children, spanning five generations of 37 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren that preserve her loving memory in their hearts. Simone was born August 20, 1922, the second of 12 children in St-Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. She married Gérard Joyal October 26, 1946, in a triple wedding with her two sisters in Letellier, Manitoba. Maman had tremendous, unwavering faith, which gave her courage and strength in the most difficult times. She was very proud of her French Canadian heritage that was passed on to her children. For 30 years, Maman was a member of the High Steppers Seniors Club. Her passions included hockey, gardening, music and she loved to sing. She was also an avid card player, but to her own set of rules! Maman was quick witted and had a great sense of humour! Maman was a tenacious, unselfish woman, who never complained with what she was dealt in life. Maman loved her children and her husband dearly. Rest, Maman, rest. No one deserves it more. A celebration of Simone's life will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 180 avenue de la Cathedrale. Prayers will be said from 10:10 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the staff of Foyer Valade on the second floor for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba. Paisiblement, Maman est décédée, accompagnée de ses enfants à ses côtés. Précédée par son cher époux, Gérard, son fils Yves (Lorraine), ses parents Achille et Olivine Plamondon, ses quatre frères et sept soeurs, ses petits-fils Kevin et Ben. Elle laisse pour chérir sa mémoire, ses quatorze enfants, Aurore (Gérard), Robert (Karen), Louise (John), Roger (Lucille), Richard (Mariette), Éveline (feu Alan), Diane (Hugo), Marc (feu Sherri-Lee), André (Dianne), Philippe (Penny), Charles (Ruth), Paul (Nicole), Nicole (Dave). Maman nous a laissé une progéniture de cinq générations de 14 enfants, de 37 petits-enfants, 42 arrière-petits-enfants, et sept arrière-arrière-petits-enfants, qui perpétueront la mémoire de son amour. Maman est née le 20 août, 1922, le deuxième enfant de 12, à St-Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. Elle épousa Gérard Joyal le 26 octobre 1946, en mariage triple avec ses deux soeurs à Letellier, Manitoba. Maman avait une foi inébranlable qui lui donnait courage lors des temps difficiles. Elle était fière de sa francophonie, une qualité qu'elle nous a passée. Elle était membre des High Steppers Seniors Club pour une trentaine d'années. Visionner les parties de hockey avec ses enfants, le jardinage, la musique et chanter n'étaient que quelques-unes de ses passions. Maman adorait jouer aux cartes, mais les règlements étaient les siens! Elle nous faisait rire lorsqu'elle racontait des histoires du passé. Maman était une personne tenace, généreuse qui appréciait tout dans la vie. Elle adorait ses enfants et son époux. La famille désire remercier le personnel (2ième étage) du Foyer Valade pour leur gentillesse envers maman. Des prières auront lieu de 10h10 - 10h25 suivit d'une messe à 10h30 à la Cathédrale de St. Boniface, le 13 mars 2018. Inhumation à suivre Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
