ISABEL THOMAS September 2, 1923 - March 13, 2018 Isabel Thomas, aged 94, passed away peacefully in the evening of March 13 at New Vista Care Home in Burnaby. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was the beloved mother of five children. She was preceded in death by her husband Eric, her brother George, her sister May, and her great-grandchild Paige. Survivors include her children, Gregory (Ramona), Susan (David), Doug (Robin), Sandra (Jan), and Judy, and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Guinness, Rachel, Tatum, and her great-grandchild Mateo. She was a devoted mother, lifelong caregiver and had a wonderful sense of humour. In her younger days she enjoyed curling and dancing, and throughout her life she enjoyed listening to music. She loved babies, cocker spaniels, and was proud of her Scottish heritage. Much of her life was devoted to her family and helping those who were in need. We will always remember her generous spirit and how she gave her all for others, always before she gave to herself. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:45 p.m. on April 7 in The Chapel of Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street in Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion.
