AUDREY DIANE HUNGERFORD (nee INGRAM) 1938 - 2018 We are very saddened to announce the passing of Diane Hungerford on April 1, 2018 at the age of 79. Diane is survived by her son Mark (Martha), granddaughter Carley, sister Joan (Elaine), sister-in-law Ruby, her niece Shelly, nephew Rod, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Alberta Ingram, brother Dick, and twin sister Doreen. Diane was born in Oakville, MB on November 12, 1938. She loved sports, dance, drawing, and occasionally playing the horses at Assiniboia Downs. She played competitively in softball and curling. Diane's team won bronze in the Canadian Senior Curling Championship in 1990 and she was inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame with the Canadian Ukrainian Athletic Club (CUAC) in 2005. She was well-revered for her talent in creating and producing skits during Action 100 at the Charleswood Legion of which she was a member for many years. The Action 100 has never been the same since she retired from those productions. For 30 years, Diane worked as comptroller for Prendiville Industries where she was also a loyal, valued support and friend to Maureen. She always cherished her lifelong friendship with Maureen and Paul. Diane lived a full life and made many friends along the way. Thank you to Mike and Karen for their many years of friendship and for always looking out for Diane. She was smart, independent, had a great wit and sense of humour, bucked the trend, and did everything on her own accord. She was a staunch believer that animals should be free and she will be dearly missed by Shadow and Cricket. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Grace Hospital Emergency and 3rd Floor for their compassionate care. In keeping with Mum's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Diane's life at the Charleswood Legion, 6003 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg on April 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.

Am very sorry Joan and Mark for your loss of a wonderful woman. I met and worked with Diane at Prendiville Industries. She was a good fun-loving work associate and we became friends. We shared some good times. She was my maid of honour in 1972, I then moved to BC and needless to say we lost touch. I am truly blessed to have known her. My condolences to all of her family. Rest In Peace Diane. Love, Eva - Posted by: Eva R Muller (Friend, Maid of Honour, work colleague ) on: May 03, 2018

I worked with Diane at Prendiville. She had a great personality and we had lots of laughs and fun times because of her. Enjoyed our trips over lunch hour to the driving range to hit some balls. Glad i had the chance to know her. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Pat Carman (Friend and co-worker) on: Apr 12, 2018

I remember Diane very well. I was very young when first meeting her. I recall a person with a kind spirit and wonderful sense of humor. On the base ball diamond and in curling, she was surely some one to watch. Joan and Elaine, you have my deepest sympathies. I will always remember her, with kindness and a smile on my face. - Posted by: Mindy Lestage (Family friend) on: Apr 05, 2018

My sincere condolences to Mark and his family on your loss. I looked after you for a few months in 1966 while your Mom was working and I was expecting my first child. Your Mom was very good to me and treated me with respect and generosity. My heart goes out to you in your loss. - Posted by: Davilyn Eyolfson (Former Babysitter) on: Apr 05, 2018
