She is lovingly survived by Herbert, her devoted spouse of 69 years; they would have been celebrating their 70th anniversary in June; her adored children, Bonnie (Grant), Wayne (Helen) and Lori (John); her grandchildren that meant the world to her, Kurtis, Dane, Nicole, Danielle, Dakota, Hillary and Lawrence. Her grandchildren lovingly referred to her as Honey, Oma and Seewee. Ruth was born in Calder, Saskatchewan on August 18, 1928. She had the fortune of travelling throughout her life. This was one of her great pleasures. She enjoyed visiting family and friends as they were so very important to her. Her interests also included knitting, crocheting, making dolls, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and going to the casino. Ruth was adored for her great sense of humour. Later in her life she struggled to live with the effects of her first stroke. She was a strong woman who never gave up and had a very strong faith. She will be sorely missed by many. I met Ruth when I was working at Riverview. She was such a sweet and nice person...I always looked forward to spending a few extra minutes talking with her. Once she even brought me delicious lasagna to have as my lunch! I have thought of her often since discharge, and am so saddened to hear of her passing. She is one of the patients who will stay with me forever. Condolences to Ruth’s family and friends. - Posted by: Mel (Worker) on: May 26, 2018
