Fidel was born April 2, 1936, in Ombao, Bula, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He lost his father at the age of four and to help the family he began his working life. He worked in the rice fields for many years. At the age of 22, he spent 11 years as a waiter serving the rich and famous of the Philippines in Selecta. They eventually found their way to Winnipeg. Fidel retired from E.H. Price after 22 years. He was kind, friendly and generous. He spent most of his life working hard to support his family.
