Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD WILLIAM HOPKINS September 7, 1933 - Liverpool, Lancashire April 8, 2018 - Calgary, Alberta Richard, beloved husband of 63 years of Audrey Hopkins of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the age of 84 years, at Sarcee Hospice. Richard and Audrey moved to Canada in 1956, first settling in Winnipeg and then moving to Calgary in 1997. Richard is survived by his children Arlene (Tim) Loucks of Calgary, AB and Brett (Cat) Hopkins of Roberts Creek, BC; grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Trent) Huebner, Otis, Georgia, Sylvie and Spencer; great-grandchildren, Van, Reggie, and Bryn; nieces and nephews, Ross (Val) McLeod and family, Joyce (Bob) Kurnell and family, Mandy McLeod (Brent) and family; sister-in-law Sheila (George, deceased) McLeod of Winnipeg, MB; brother Alan Hopkins of England; and extended family in the UK and Australia. He was predeceased by his mother Mary; sisters Pat and Jennifer; and his son Wayne. Richard was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge both in Winnipeg and Calgary. He loved to sing barbershop, tell stories, usually accompanied by a fine glass of Scotch, and until recent years, loved a good round of golf. At his request there will be no service and a private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to a charity of your choice in Dick's name.
