TERRY WOOKEY (nee COYLE) In memory of Terry Wookey who passed away on April 14, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Terry will be lovingly remembered by her sons Russ (Ellen) and Cal (Danielle); grandchildren Janelle (Casey) and Jeremie (Alex); great-granddaughter Maisie; grandchildren Joel, Riley and Karen De Blonde, and son-in-law Garry De Blonde. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by her husband Don Wookey, and her daughter Diana De Blonde. She was also predeceased by her parents Thomas and Esther; her brothers Ed, Jim, Ben, Fred and Jerome; as well as her sisters Stasia, Bernice and Patsy. Terry was born in 1927 in Winnipeg and grew up as the youngest in a large family on Yale Avenue. She attended Kelvin High School and Success Business College after which she worked at Manufacturers Life and Coca Cola. She married Don in 1951 and raised their three children at the house on Regal Avenue. After her children had grown she worked at Hudson's Bay and the University of Winnipeg. Terry was president of the Architects Wives Association of Manitoba. She also enjoyed volunteering at places such as the YWCA and YMCA. Later in life she volunteered with senior's organizations and Golden Links Lodge. Terry enjoyed curling, golf and other activities. She was a member of the 1990 Golden Gals Provincial Curling Championship team. Terry spent many enjoyable years socializing and exercising at the Winnipeg Reh-Fit Centre. She will be remembered as a person of spirit, humour and independence. Terry spent her last years as a resident of Golden Links Lodge where she continued to take the time to reach out with kindness toward other residents. She was loved by many of the staff and residents there. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and support staff at Golden Links who provided such compassion, kindness and care to her. Rest in peace Mum. We will all miss you. A memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard, Winnipeg on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
