Date of Passing: Jan 10, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALD (JERRY) ADAM SRIGLEY May 23, 1933 - January 10, 2018 Gerald Adam Srigley of Winnipeg, MB passed away peacefully last winter with his nieces at his side. Remaining to forever cherish Jerry's memory are his daughter Jenny (Don), son Jeff (Audra) and their children Caitlin and Emily; nieces, Andrea (Larry), Cathy (Carl), Terri, Brigitte and her children Sophie and Patrick; nephew Denys; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Clayton at age 18, brother Jim (Alice) and sister Susan. In compliance with Dad's wishes there was no service. Dad enjoyed a long career in plumbing and heating sales, working primarily for Westburn Industrial. He enjoyed woodcarving in his later years, with brother Jim and coffee and smoke breaks with sister Sue. Earlier hobbies included roller skating, old movies and show tunes, and camping in Gimli with partner Lil. Dad very much missed his time spent with friends at the Royal Canadian Legion and was proud to have served in the US military as a young man. We will cherish our memories of fishing with Dad on Lake Winnipeg, meeting him at the Forks for Sunday brunches and having him over for supper during holidays. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seven Oaks, Grace, Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface hospitals for the wonderful care he received over the past few years, as well as his home care workers and support staff at Assiniboine Links. Finally, our thanks go out to doctors Leicht and Milner, as well as Dr. Lee (GP) for the many years of care and compassion they showed Dad. A private interment service will be held at the family graveside this spring, where Dad and his sister Sue will be laid to rest with their parents. Donations in memoriam may be made to The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. Abbreviated version published in the Winnipeg Free Press January 13, 2018.
